Naukan:
Elders say that they used to use the berries as play beads when they were children in Naukan.

Старики говорят, что использовали ягоды как бусины, когда детьми играли в Наукане.

Chukchi:
These are not the most popular berry, but some people gather them in the early fall to make jam.

Это не самая популярная ягода, но некоторые собирают ее ранней осенью на варенье.

Central Alaskan Yup’ik:
These berries are gathered only rarely.  Some people do pick them for jam.  In Kotlik, people used to make a kind of akutaq with these berries and seal oil soaked up with moss.  The moss did not end up in the final product.
